Elder's storyline should have been the best part of this book, but somehow even that was poorly done.I didn't realize in the first book how absolutely nothing Elder and Amy are. He's constantly saying that the people of Godspeed don't realize all the work he's doing, but we never actually see him do anything, or think of the future. Instead, way too much time is devoted to the clue hunt, and Elder's plot also falls short. The idea of the inhabitants of Godspeed getting restless and rebellions threatened should have been the main storyline. It made absolutely no sense that he'd take the time and leave clues for her - especially such hard ones. What? It was just added to give the story a plot, but the whole time I was thinking "this is so stupid". I don't know why A Million Suns is different, but I was annoyed while reading it.Similar to the first book, the plot was interesting, and the twists were pretty cool. Review 2: Well. When I read Across the Universe, I had some problems with it, but they were easily overlooked. ![]() ![]() ![]() Luckily, Beth Revis developed the characters enough in this book that I'm somewhat invested now and want to find out what happens. I could not see how they were going to resolve the problems presented - and it turns out that they didn't, leaving all resolution for the last book which I now have no choice but to read. Review 1: This is like a dystopia of the dystopia - is that possible? This was more engaging than the first in the series. ![]() ![]() Gibbs deftly pens an Alex Rider–level adventure with this series starter, as the trio races to solve clues and find Pandora before it falls into the wrong hands.
